Sway Bar Pilates was established in 2008 is the Gold Coasts leading Pilates & fitness studio.  Sway Bar offers traditional Pilates classes, Reformer, Yoga, Barre and Pilates insipired classes seven days per week from two convenient Gold Coast locations.

Sway Bar provides a series of low cost community Pilates mat classes across the Gold Coast.

Pilates Mat

Mat Pilates is the foundation for all the fun you can have on the reformer. So, whether you're new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, starting with Mat Pilates can really set you up for success!

  • Mat Pilates classes are an awesome way to get started with Pilates if you're new to it. They're perfect for learning the basics, getting familiar with some of the common terms, and easing into the movements at your own pace. If words like "c-curve" or "spinal articulation" have ever made you scratch your head, don't worry—these classes were made just for you! After attending a few sessions, you'll feel more confident with all the Pilates fundamentals. Plus, this is a great foundation to build upon if you ever want to try the Reformer later on. You'll be on your way to getting stronger, both mentally and physically, while having a great time in the process!

Our Mat Classes

Mat Pilates is the foundation for all the fun you can have on the reformer. So, whether you're new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, starting with Mat Pilates can really set you up for success!

  • Whether you’re new to the pilates world or you haven’t been on a reformer in awhile, this class is for you! This is a great way to ease into the exercise by familiarising yourself with our cueing, learning proper technique and becoming acquainted with pilates equipment.  Remember every great reformer exercise came from this class!


  • Where the reformer meets the mat, Pilates Sculpt is a SWAY signature class using sculpting straps and small balls to deliver a high-energy Pilates mat class.  Taught at a moderate to high pace with maximum burn, this class will strengthen, flex and tone your body from head to toe.  


    These exercises generally require more strength, coordination, weight-bearing, and balance.

    If you are new to Pilates, please do not book this class.

  • High on burn, low on difficulty, this Pilates Mat Class steps up the intensity.  Suitable for beginners to advanced, work at a higher pace to improve muscle tone and strength by introducing weight and increasing repetitions.  Use small balls, resistance bands, and hand and ankle weights to achieve a traditional full-body Pilates class with maximum intensity and burn. Suitable for beginner to advanced, connect with every muscle and make it burn.   

  • Unwind and rebalance with a class fusing Pilates mat movements with active and static stretches.  Use bands, balls and rollers to massage fascia tissue and restore balance with breath.  It's a great addition to provide balance to your weekly strength routine.

Reformer Pilates

Reformer Pilates has become increasingly popular for its ability to offer a comprehensive full-body workout using a specialized machine with spring resistance, effectively sculpting lean muscles. Whether you're looking to enhance your routine, build strength, improve balance, or recover from an injury, Reformer Pilates challenges the entire body and provides progression opportunities for everyone, from beginners to advanced practitioners.

  • Whether you’re looking to switch up your workout routine, build strength, improve your balance, or recover from an injury, Reformer Pilates is an amazing way to challenge your entire body. From Clients who are completely new to the practice of Pilates all the way to the most advanced practitioners, the reformer always offers room to progress.

    Our Intro to Pilates Class is a prerequisite for our Reformer Pilates class, but all levels are welcome.

This class is essential before moving on to Reformer or Mat Pilates, ensuring you can use the reformer safely and effectively. We welcome participants of all levels to discover the benefits of this dynamic practice in our supportive community!

  • Welcome to our entry-level reformer class! We’re excited to help you strengthen and condition your whole body in a fun way. This full-body workout will boost your spinal mobility, strengthen your arms and legs, and enhance your core stability. With the Pilates Reformer, you’ll enjoy every challenge as you maintain your fitness. This class is perfect for everyone, and we can’t wait to see you there!


  • Welcome to Reformer Sculpt, where everyone is welcome to join the fun! This SWAY signature class combines weights, props, and REPS to sculpt muscles and offer you a dynamic, energetic Pilates reformer experience. We move at a moderate to high pace, ensuring you feel the burn while strengthening, flexing, and toning your entire body from head to toe.


    These exercises typically require greater strength and coordination, as well as weight-bearing and balance.

    If you're new to Reformer, please refrain from booking this class.

  • High on the burn, this advanced reformer class is the culmination of everything you’ve accomplished on your Pilates journey. Created for the most dedicated practitioners, this class will challenge you to your limits. Expect jump board work, weights, and REPS, alongside a fast-paced progression through variations of classic reformer exercises and demanding balance sequences.


    This is a full-body Pilates class featuring maximum intensity and burn. Suitable for those at the intermediate to advanced level; if you’re new to Pilates… please don’t book!

  • Unwind and rebalance with a class that fuses Pilates reformer movements with both active and static stretches. This class makes a fantastic addition to your weekly routine, particularly if office work, home life, or even a holiday has left you feeling tight and tense.

  • SwayFlex - Pilates for Seniors is a beginner-level, semi-private class (maximum of 6 people) that provides modifications and exercises for clients aged 60 and over.


    This is an excellent option for those who are new to Pilates or who prefer a slower-paced class that offers more individual guidance from the instructor.
